What is Dermal Fillers?
Dermal Fillers are injectables made to replace lost volume in the tissues of the face. They can be used to regain lost volume in our mid-face, cheeks, jawline and to soften lines and wrinkles in the areas of the face which may have become slightly deflated. The effects should always be precise your look will not change but you will look healthier, youthful and fresh.
We only use the highest quality dermal fillers in our clinic.
How Dermal Filler works?
The majority of the Dermal Fillers we use in our clinics are made from a substance called Hyaluronic acid. It is produced synthetically but can be found naturally in the skin of all animals. Hyaluronic acid is a structural molecule in our skin and it binds water molecules to keep our skin hydrated. which results the fresh look of the skin. Hyaluronic acid Dermal Fillers molecules bound together into cohesive gels, and they hold their shape when injected into areas where we aim to regain lost volume. When these are injected under the skin in areas of volume loss, they restore the shape of the face in a gentle and nicer way. The body naturally breaks down hyaluronic acid, with the passage of time the fillers are absorbed safely into the body without any effect. If there is any problem occurs following a filler treatment Hyaluronic acid fillers can be removed using injections of an enzyme called hyaluronidase.
What areas can be treated?
With our age we tend to lose volume on face in a very predictable way, and our faces begin to sag, creating deep furrows, tear troughs, marionette lines, and folds, and jowls start to form. Dermal fillers aim to replace this lost volume in a perfect and effective way.
We also offer Dermal Fillers for Lip Enhancement, Jawline and Chin enhancement, Tear Trough and for Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty.
Dermal Fillers work well in conjunction with other treatments including Anti Wrinkle Injection for fine lines and wrinkles. It also works with skin boosters such as Profhilo to rejuvenate the skin and reduce the signs of ageing.
Things you need to know.
After dermal filler treatment we recommend being careful not to touch the area excessively in the first 6 hours or so as this can increase the risk of swelling. We also recommend hold up while sleeping on your back rather than your side, with an extra pillow to reduce the risk of swelling. You may also take an over the counter antihistamine (such as piroton, clarityn or fexofenadine) to reduce the risk of swelling before you go to bed on the day of your filler treatment, and on the next day, to reduce swelling. Bruising can be treated with topical arnica gel or cream. Exercise is better to avoid for at least 24 hours post treatment to reduce the risk of swelling.
We advise not to wear any makeup around the injected areas for 12 hours after the treatment to reduce the risk of skin infections.
Mineral-based makeup including Oxygenetix may be used on the area immediately after the treatment and we would recommend using a sunscreen on the area to protect the skin, which may be sensitive the day after your treatment.
You can start your normal skincare routine after 12 hours of treatment
